Nice looking shelves but internal frame is weak
I purchased three of these shelves. They are beautiful looking. The issue is the internal shelf frame that the actual shelf slides onto and attaches to the wall is not very robust. The frames are not welded straight and the shelf is not a tight fit. It is a small difference, but the impact is that they do not sit straight wall and they sag down. The contractor added shims but this is only made it marginally better.
Hi Catherine, Thank you for your time and feedback! We value the opinion of our customers very much, and we are always ready to help if any question arises. Below you can see few recommendations: ================================= 1. A common mistake is that the contractor immediately tightly tightens the small screw-bolts at the top, and only then tries to tighten them at the bottom (or vice versa) - we recommend inserting and slightly tightening all the small bolts, and then tightening them tightly. 2. If the problem you are describing is observed on a FLAT brick or stone wall, please send a zoomed photo: firstname.lastname@example.org -we'll study and make a decision up to a free shelf replacement. btw, the frame of each Ponoma shelf is welded so tightly that it can support the weight of a person. 3. But two things are also important: how flat the wall is and the thickness of the wall. Especially on weak walls, for example, drywall: https://ponomasteel.com/pages/how-to-install-floating-shelf-countertop-and-how-much-weight-can-the-floating-shelf-ponoma-hold Please pay attention of your contractor to the special hardware for drywall, which he can find in the nearest store or order from us, so named, SnapToggles: https://ponomasteel.com/products/3-16-snaptoggle-mount-hardware-set-for-drywall-sheetrock-plaster-wall ================================= Additionally, we've checked all 12"x8"x1.5 shelves to find out if there is any defect in the frame of finished shelves, all are OK: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2175/8813/files/12x8x1.5_11a3e93a-8cbb-48bd-9949-4436397db708.jpg?v=1615931900 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2175/8813/files/12x8x1.5_a2f067e1-fdc9-4c2c-8ab8-18e5277e1960.jpg?v=1615931900 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2175/8813/files/12x8x1.5.jpg?v=1615931899 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2175/8813/files/12x8x1.5_F.jpg?v=1615932113 - the assembled shelves have no discrepancies in the depth of the outer and inner parts. But if you have such shelves, we will fix them immediately. So, waiting for your information to work out the right solution. Thanks. Best regards, Customer service
